Something I've noticed is that people associate wisdom with age. But...do people not realize that wisdom is only the result of experience. I've recently had some interesting encounters regarding this subject.

You see, there's this man...he's much older than I, but after the experience with him that I had yesterday, he is not very wise in some areas. I met him a couple of years ago and he's always been someone that I could go to and talk about my problems...and he's always given me the best of advice. I will not mention his name, only that he is my best friend's step-dad...to me he is a father figure and a good friend. I see him every day and we often engage in deep conversation. Yesterday he came to me and said that he had a big secret to tell me. I promised I wouldn't say anything and I waited for his reply. He then proceeded to tell me that he is going to leave his wife because he's very unhappy with his life with her. After that he said that he really liked me...and then he kissed me. I pushed him away and told that we couldn't do that (for numerous reasons) and he backed off for the moment. This man is 20+ years older than I, not to mention that I do see him as a main father figure in my life. Ever since then he hasn't left me alone to even think! It's so confusing especially since I was really starting to trust him. He is 40 some years old and some people might think he is very wise...but, while he can say some wise words...his actions speak otherwise.

A small warning for the future...don't ever ever associate wisdom with years...and be careful of people who are only wise of the tongue because he or she may not be so wise in their actions...and actions always speak louder than words.
